Letter to Attorney General re: Domestic & Family Violence Register
BUILD A BETTER WORLD FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS
16th March 2026
The Hon. Michael Daley, MP
NSW Attorney General
NSW Parliament House
GPO Box 5341
SYDNEY NSW 2001
Dear Mr Daley
I am writing to you seeking information about any plans your jurisdiction may have for establishing a register of people who have been convicted of domestic and family violence-related offences.
If your jurisdiction has already established such a register, could you please advise of the relevant legislation and regulations which govern the inclusion of a perpetrator on the register and who may be able to access such information and how.
Also, it is of interest to ³Ô¹ÏÍø Australia as to whether your jurisdiction has a position regarding harmonising your legislation with other jurisdictions, including the establishment of a national register of people who have been convicted of domestic and family violence.
³Ô¹ÏÍø Australia provides a unified voice for ³Ô¹ÏÍø International and ³Ô¹ÏÍø clubs in Australia on issues of national importance as they impact women and girls. ³Ô¹ÏÍø Australia was established in June 2024 ³Ô¹ÏÍø to represent the three ³Ô¹ÏÍø Districts in Australia with more than 2000 members in more than 100 clubs. ³Ô¹ÏÍø International was inaugurated in the United States of America in 1919 and there have been registered clubs in Australia for 60 years.
³Ô¹ÏÍø International has fought for gender equality for more than a century, and much of our efforts have focused on ensuring women's full and equal participation in society and securing equal opportunities for girls to pursue an education and realise their full potential.
Yours sincerely
Bernardine Guy
District Governor
